Civil CAD Designer
Job description
MB&B Architecture and Engineering is looking for a qualified Civil CAD Designer to work in projects ranging from small residential additions to medium-size retail and industrial buildings.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with architects and supervising engineers to create civil documents, including but not limited to:
- Grading Plans
 - Drainage and Detention Plans
 - Utility Plans
 - Paving Plans
 - Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans
 - Storm Water Management Reports
 - Plan and Profiles
 
 - Perform conveyance and stormwater detention calculations based on specific city, county, or DOT standards.
 - Review design layouts to evaluate design concepts and make recommendations.
 - Review submittals to verify the builder’s compliance with the design.
 - Contact official permitting agencies as required.
 - Coordinate and meet with clients upon request.
 - Prepare as-built plans as required.
 
Qualifications
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
 - 3 years or more of certified Civil3D experience in the production of civil documents.
 - Experience in site development projects.
 - Experience working on projects within TxDOT jurisdiction.
 - Possess strong problem-solving skills and ethics.
 - Possess an excellent understanding of drafting standards.
 - Knowledge of Microsoft Office software package.
 - Effective interpersonal skills and an excellent teamwork attitude.
 - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
 - Able to work independently with little or no supervision.
 - Able to solve problems using good judgment.
 
Structural CAD Designer
Job description
MB&B Architecture and Engineering is looking for a qualified Structural CAD Designer to work on projects ranging from small residential additions to medium-size retail and industrial buildings.
Responsibilities
- Set up drafting standards.
 - Perform field visits to survey existing job conditions or to perform construction inspections.
 - Produce structural plan layouts based on basic sketches provided by the Senior Engineer.
 - Review design layouts to evaluate design concepts and make recommendations.
 - Coordinate and produce accurate sections and details based on specific project requirements.
 - Review standard notes and specifications based on building code requirements.
 - Review shop drawings to verify the builder’s compliance with structural design.
 - Contact official permitting agencies as required.
 - Coordinate and meet with clients upon request.
 - Prepare as-built plans.
 
Qualifications
- 3 years of certified AutoCAD and Revit experience in the production of Structural construction documents.
 - Possess excellent understanding of drafting standards.
 - Possess excellent understanding of materials and structural systems including wood, steel, and concrete.
 - Possess excellent understanding of Structural documents.
 - Possess excellent understanding of Architectural documents.
 - Knowledge of Microsoft Office software package.
 - Effective interpersonal skills and an excellent teamwork attitude.
 - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
 - Able to work independently with little or no supervision.
